Hi Tech Building Systems Ltd, under the management of its Director John Stewart
has been in operation since the early 1970's
The company is the result of a 40 year career in the building industry including project management, light commercial buildings and the motivation to be successful in the use of insulated panel for freezers, coolstores and processing rooms,
and light commercial buildings.
After the September 2010 earthquake in Christchurch John saw a need in the community for an experienced and competent building company to assist in the rebuild of our city. A new division specialising in earthquake repairs was established and has quickly developed a positive reputation in designing and implementing effective earthquake repairs, liasing with owners, tenants, loss adjusters and insurance companies.
The success of the business is due to John's ability in giving his clients the service they need, completing projects on time, working within a safe work environment, and treating everyone fairly and honestly.

John Stewart
in New Zealand, and overseas for over 40 years
During this period he has demonstrated his ability to meet the challenges
and changing demands of the ever-evolving construction industry.
He has an impressive reputation, both nationally and internationally, based
on his proven industry knowledge and experience. His high level of expertise
spans many decades of practical involvement in the building industry over
a huge number of construction projects.
Over the years he has owned a variety of industry related businesses,
including a scaffolding company, he has project managed multiple
projects successfully.
John provides strong leadership to his experienced team, and his insight
and understanding of the industry enables him to maintain excellent
standards in the delivery of all construction projects.
He started his working career with Rudnev NZ, travelling throughout New Zealand upgrading freezing works, building new meat works from the ground up, MAF approved processing rooms, freezers, coolrooms, tobacco and kiwifruit plant rooms.
Within 18 months John was promoted to head foreman. He was very focussed in his job, very good at liaising with clients, and during the off season of the freezing works he employed a couple of hundred off season workers from the meat works to work with him on large projects.
At the age of 21 John left Rudnev NZ to start up a business 'Kiapoi Coolstores' and did a lot of work for CFM Belfast and Pareora then went back to Rudnev NZ as a contractor. For 20 odd years it was the norm to have a staff of 80+ men working for him. During this time John and his team did some big projects overseas and became a leader in this field.
During his working career John has owned a scaffolding business - Skyhigh Scaffolding Ltd - which at its peak, had a staff of 12. An aluminium joinery company - Bettalite Aluminium Ltd - with 8 staff, and a portable building hire company with offices in Auckland, Blenheim, Reefton and Christchurch - Porta-Build Hire Ltd - with a staff of 22.
John has worked hard and put his heart into his career. It has been nothing for him to work 18 hours a day, 7 days a week at times. He has done this for most of his career up until about 10 years ago.

Hi Tech Painting Systems is one of the divisions of Hi Tech Building Systems. This area of the business specialises in all paint systems, working to ensure a top-quality end result for both our residential and commercial clients. We provide a variety of services, including (but not limited to) :

Russley Portables
Russley Portables is a company dedicated to the building and supply of portable buildings. Using the knowledge and technology acquired over many years, Russley Portables is able to provide a portable building, big or small, built to any specifications.
Extremely versatile, built to full building code standards. They can be for any purpose - for use on commercial or residential sites, offices, sleep outs, MAF hygiene rooms, public ablutions, classrooms and temporary housing solutions, as part of the rebuild of Canterbury.

Russley Contractors
Russley Contractors are concrete specialists that provide a number of different concrete-related services, including concrete crack injection, concrete joints, saw cutting, drilling and grinding.
